I was very disappointed to watch the story line of todays show. A woman is shown having a myomectomy, which then led to heavy bleeding & then her death. Fibroids are rarely dramatised on tv) The chances of this trauma happening are rare. I feel sorry for people watching who may have been put off the operation because of it.
Did anyone else see it. There is so little information available to the general public, then to see this negative portrayal is so disappointing.
I will be writing to the BBC about the programme & reminding them that there is little or no information about fibroids available to the general public & to put such a negative story line without support numbers or information after the programme for people who may have been distressed by it. I also don't think they realise that the condition affects 50% of women in the UK and it may have put alot of them off surgery. They didnt even properly explain what went wrong.
Did anyone else see it. What did you think?
